Thomas Huot-Marchand designs bespoke typographic solutions for brands and institutions seeking to strengthen their visual identity. His research expertise allows him to advise and support both clients and creative teams on typographic history, technology, and concepts.
The photography for the 2013 edition attempts to capture the movement of ink, diluted in water, which escapes from the text.

Théâtre musical de Besançon — cadrobus
Monthly posters for the Théâtre musical de Besançon. The recipe is the same : one colour + black, circles, semi-abstract pictures, gradients, and Mononi.
Booksters are books to hang on the wall: the full text of great literature novels are printed on a single poster. Parisian agency Maartin developed the collection, using Minuscule typeface I designed, which is highly legible in very small sizes. They asked me to design one poster, and I chose Gulliver by Jonathan Swift : an obvious choice, which becomes a giant specimen for my typeface. Texts goes from 350 pt to 1 pt size. Poster available at www.thebookstershop.com
Identity and flyer for the exhibition of the Type Directors Club at ECV Paris, 2013. Typeset in Garaje, in various weights, widths and sizes, and one single stroke.

All the posters of the Theater are constructed from circles, in 2 colors. These abstract compositions evoke, rather than illustrate, the works. The solid colors correspond to the different disciplines.

Maison Tangible — Lip
I collect Lip watches, especially the models of the 1970’s designed by Rudi Meyer and Roger Tallon. When my friend Aurélien Jeanney created, with Mathieu Blondeau, Maison Tangible, he first published a collection entitled Vesontio, an hommage to our city. Lip factory has an epic story here, and after a long absence, it came back to Besançon. This poster is an hommage to the iconic Lip logo, made with the silhouettes of watches. Available at Maison Tangible gallery, in Paris.

Émergences — programme
Programme of the 8th edition of the festival Émergences, a week dedicated to young creation in Besançon. For this edition of Émergences, the last I designed, I made a compromise by adding a color, that of the post-it notes, a last reference to the paper medium which, glued, torn or folded, formed the basis of the identity of this event. 32 p., terribly printed by the Imprimerie municipale.
