Thomas Huot-Marchand designs bespoke typographic solutions for brands and institutions seeking to strengthen their visual identity. His research expertise allows him to advise and support both clients and creative teams on typographic history, technology, and concepts.
Hangar 23 is a theater in Rouen, in western France. Its programming offers a very broad spectrum, from theater to dance, and from circus to world music. To illustrate this variety, but also the context of the Hangar surrounded by the port and containers, I created a monospace version of Garaje 0703 Black, with many alternates, which color the message differently. In the first seasonal program of the Théâtre musical, special care is given to the texts: I proposed to keep a "literary" aspect, by grouping the photographs in a separate quire. Printed on a different paper, it offers another, transversal reading of the season. In the interior pages, the colored pads identify the register: Theater, Dance, Opera, etc.

The theater is located on the port of Rouen, surrounded by (and partly built with) containers. These containers inspired the visual identity of the theater : the wordmark is set in a special weight of Garaje 0703 Monospace Black, in a frame that takes the shape of the facade of the building.
